Loving
What Is by Byron Katie: |
| |
A very powerful simple approach
to undoing the thoughts, beliefs and “stories” that
run through our minds and limit our happiness and contact with
our essence. This is an approach that I find extremely effective
with clients. |

The
Power of Now by Eckhart Tolle: |
| |
Realizing that most of us spend
an almost insignificant amount of time living on the razor’s
edge of the present which is the only place anything really
takes place, I found this book to be a simple but powerful approach
to the present. But more than that, by facilitating the journey
to the present it takes us to our Self. A key to living consciously. |

Love
Is Letting Go of Fear; and others by Gerald G. Jampolsky: |
| |
A powerful little book based
on A Course in Miracles that points to letting go of the past
and future as a means to letting go of fear and living powerfully
in the essence of love. |
| |

A
Course in Miracles: |
| |
This book is the one I would
take to the proverbial desert island. It seems to me to be the
most unadulterated truth dealing with the reality of Truth and
Love and the illusion of Fear and ego. (Ego in the spiritual
sense versus psychological). It brings one to an understanding
of the separation illusion and the path back through true forgiveness
— the release of all judgments. This can be a challenging
read if you are not willing to question every belief you have
ever had. |

Happiness
Is a Choice by Barry Neil Kaufman |
| |
A great book for helping us
to realize that we are not victims of what happens externally
and that contrary to popular opinion we really do have a choice
as to how we feel in any given moment or situation. |

A
Brief History of Everything: |
| |
Sex, Ecology, Spirituality;
and others by Ken Wilbur: The titles may be misleading but Ken
is one of the most important modern day thinkers and authors
with an unbelievable capacity to intelligently integrate consciousness,
philosophy, psychology, religion, science, spirituality, social
theory, and intellectual thought. He masterfully “undoes”
a lot of misperceptions and fuzzy thinking while offering a
comprehensive view of the human world that makes sense. It can
be challenging to read his materiel but worth the effort. |

The
Thunder of Silence: |
| |
he Mystical I; The Art of Meditation;
A Parenthesis in Time; The Infinite Way; and many others by
Joel Goldsmith: Very powerful well written books by a man who
obviously talks from personal experience and contact with the
Presence. I love the simplicity of his approach that goes way
beyond mental spirituality or metaphysics. He quickly and masterfully
points out how one can avoid the many misperceptions and traps
on the spiritual path. In the book Living by Grace pages 102-103
he describes an approach to utilizing his work. |

Anatomy
of the Spirit by Caroline Myss: |
| |
Includes an inspired synthesis
of the ancient wisdom of the Christian sacraments, the Hindu
charkas, and the Kabbalah’s Tree of Life and how they
lead to higher consciousness and spiritual maturity. |
| |
|

 |
|
The
Seat of the Soul by Gary Zukav: |
| |
I ran across this book several
years ago and am delighted to see it enjoying a resurgence recently.
He speaks of our journey toward authentic power (versus external
power) as the goal of our evolutionary process and the purpose
of our being. |

|
The
Four Agreements by Don Miguel Ruiz: |
| |
A great little book that shows
how we can achieve personal freedom through the agreements that
he presents and explains |
| |
|
|
 |
|
Nothing
Real Can Be Threatened by Tara Singh: |
| |
A book based on A Course in
Miracles that addresses the transcending of fear and thought
written by a man who has had close associations with Mr. J.
Krishnamurti, Prime Minister Nehru, Eleanor Roosevelt, Aldous
Huxley and particularly with the scribe of A Course in Miracles. |

Think
On These Things (Krishnamurti) edited by D. Rajagopal: |
| |
It is difficult to choose among
the several books by or about Krishnamurti but this may be good
place to make his acquaintance. A very direct and lucid being
who pointed to traps humans get caught in and the way to achieve
liberation from the self. |

unbelievably heavy burdens of guilt and remorse. |
